How popular is the NFL draft? Get this: April of 2010 was the first time the league broadcast the draft in primetime, but it was only on cable - ESPN and the NFL Network. Still, well over 8 million viewers turned in - a bigger audience than almost all the broadcast sitcoms that night. Speaking of the draft, when Oakland released JaMarcus Russell before the 2010 season, he became only the second No. 1 overall pick in the draft to last only three years with the team that picked him.
